The disadvantage of this saw is its bulk. Some users find Stihl MS290 Farm Boss a little heavy and bulky. There is no need to worry though for extreme muscle stress because the saw's side-access chain tensioner and anti-vibration system allow a smooth glide when you are cutting through big lumber.

It can only cut through trees with less than a foot in diameter. This midsize chainsaw is not designed for cutting down enormous trees. If you intend in doing that, buy a bigger chainsaw with heavier duty chain instead.
